Simulation-based Urban Building Energy Modeling

This paper explores a comprehensive framework for urban decarbonization using Grasshopper, focusing on parametric generation and computational workflows for Urban Building Energy Modeling (UBEM). Using the Sheffield region as a case study, the research analyzes carbon emissions in relation to sustainable goals, offering strategies to improve UBEM methodologies and enhance model calibration for broader applications in urban sustainability.
Building Environmental Simulation + Analysis

The aim of this report is to study the interfering factors that are critical to sustainable development design and performance of the new building in the square in front of arts center tower, Sheffield, UK. The parameter check will be based on the simulation and analysis of computational software.
TEXT-2-CITY

This paper introduces a novel workflow that utilizes Stable Diffusion, a state-of-the-art latent diffusion model, to generate 3D urban environments. The process involves reconstructing 3D urban block models from generated depth images, employing a systematic depth-to-height mapping technique. Additionally, the paper explores the extrapolation between various urban morphological characteristics, aiming to generate novel urban forms that transcend existing city models.
Reimagining Chinese Garden Design

This study aims to develop an interactive, user-centered methodology for designing traditional Chinese gardens that integrates a user-friendly interface and dynamic inputs. This project offers a collection of tools, comprising generative AI models and web application interfaces. These tools allow users to input the area proportions of masterplan components, such as pavilions or pavement, to produce a color scheme.
Building Energy Demand Predictor

This project reviews various machine learning models to predict the heating and cooling demand of commercial buildings in Georgia state. To ensure the diversity of potential features, we include both numerical and categorical feature as independent variable. A web-based interface is developed to deploy the best model.
Kinetic Shading Device

The main purpose of this report is to look deeply into the workflow of creating a reasonable sun adaptive shading device by switching between Grasshopper in Rhino and Dynamo in Revit, further, to explore the application based on BIM of data extraction and processing, cross-software collaboration, and data visualization in architectural design.
